The UCR School of Public Policy is hosting a beautification and trash pickup project for Highlander Day of Service.
Special guest speakers in attendance will be Riverside Ward 1 City Councilmember Philip Falcone, Riverside Ward 2 City Councilmember Clarissa Cervantes, and Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce President Nicholas Adcock.
The event will also feature remarks by the Dean of the School of Public Policy, and the Executive Director of the school’s new research center, the UCR Center for Community Solutions.
UCR Highlander Day of Service is a day for UCR alumni, students, faculty, and staff to give back to their communities across the nation.
Esa Hasan, a School of Public Policy Dean’s Ambassador who is leading the event, said “Highlander Day of Service is a great opportunity for students to step up and make a real impact in Downtown Riverside. I’m excited to see everyone come together and make a difference.”
This project will take place on Saturday, February 8th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a formal program from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The meeting spot will be the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at 3985 University Avenue, and the clean-up project will take place between 10th Street and 14th Street.
