On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 starting from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. the Civil Rights Institute of Southern California (CRIISC) and the UCR School of Public Policy will be hosting an in-person Election Watch Session.
"Engagement in the political process is essential as we all play different roles and each of our voices matter. CRIISC is a special place to bring community together on common ground via understanding and engagement. This space and this Election Watch Party is embedded in collaboration, intergenerational necessity and camaraderie so we can continue to educate, empower, and evolve," said Sabrina Gonzalez, Executive Director of the Civil Rights Institute of Southern California. "The event will be unique in that instead of just being a watch party, there will be interviews with governmental and community leaders from across the Inland Southern California region."
Confirmed speakers include:
At this event, there will also be a panel of public policy students (Dean’s Ambassadors) who will monitor U.S. California, and local election results and news, social media trends, and polling information.
After the in-person watch session, the UCR School of Public Policy will continue election coverage through a virtual watch session. Among the guests will be UC Riverside’s resident polling expert, Professor Andy Crosby.
