In the latest episode of Policy Chats, hosts Kevin Karami & Catherine Mah sat down with Sharon Oselin, Director of the Presley Center of Crime and Justice Studies, to discuss the California Fair Chance Act and barriers to integration following incarceration.
On the topic, Oselin said, “With growing public awareness and legislators' awareness about some of the harms of mass incarceration in particular... there has been significantly retooled efforts to focus on policies and laws that help reduce those inequalities but also deal with some of the consequences for those that have been justice-impacted in various ways.”
The episode also covers the importance of employment following an individual's incarceration.
