On Thursday, July 29th at 3:00 pm (PDT), the Inland Center for Sustainable Development (ICSD), a research center of the UCR School of Public Policy, will hold a panel discussion on housing trends and present its first annual report.

The panel is scheduled to include:

  • Dr. Stephanie Houston, Assistant Superintendent at the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools
  • Steve PonTell, President and Chief Executive Officer of National CORE
  • Bill Higgins, Executive Director of California Association of Councils of Governments (CALCOG)
  • Kome Ajise,  Executive Director of Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)

“Under the leadership of Rick Bishop, Qingfang Wang and Ron Loveridge, ICSD has produced timely and policy-relevant research on one of the biggest challenges facing inland Southern California – affordable housing,” said Founding SPP Dean Anil Deolalikar, who will give opening remarks at the event. “Restoring the California Dream will need a concerted effort on the part of local governments, the private sector, and the nonprofit sector to tackle the region’s housing shortage and affordability crisis. ICSD’s research provides a roadmap for addressing this grand challenge.”

You can register for the virtual event, titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Housing Development in the Inland Region,” here.
