On Tuesday, May 11th, the UCR School of Public Policy (SPP) will host a talk by second-year public policy major Sana Jaffery on “The Power of Policy Research and Publication at the Undergraduate Level.” This event is part of the SPP Student Spotlight Series.

Jaffery will present on the importance of policy research and publication at the undergraduate level and discuss how students can benefit from involvement in research. She will also walk through the SPP’s up and coming journal, Consilium, and what students can gain from this new program.

“We have reached a milestone step in our work to unveil the full scope of our proposal of student success programs hosted through the SPP,” said Vivek Kakar, a second year public policy major and Founding Executive Director of the Roosevelt Network at UC Riverside. “We are proud to introduce Consilium, an undergraduate journal of the UC Riverside School of Public Policy and the Roosevelt Network chapter at UCR. Publishing at the undergraduate level is a rare opportunity and we are happy to bring that to UC Riverside’s School of Public Policy where innovative policy solutions are being found on the regular.”

This event is open to the general public. Attendees must register to attend. Registrants will receive an email in advance of the event with a link to join.

This event is part of the UCR School of Public Policy Student Spotlight Series, which features the policy-related work of UCR public policy students. During the shelter-in-place order for California, all events are being held online. For more information, visit spp.ucr.edu/events.
