On Friday, November 13th, the UCR School of Public Policy will host a panel discussion about the 2020 election results with experts from the UCR School of Public Policy. Topics will include inequality, public health and COVID-19, racial equity, community development, and immigration, among others.

Panelists include:

  • David Brady (Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Blum Initiative on Global and Regional Poverty at UCR)
  • Richard Carpiano (Professor of Public Policy and Sociology)
  • Kristen Kopko (Research Manager and Policy Analyst at the UCR Inland Center for Sustainable Development)
  • Karthick Ramakrishnan (Professor of Public Policy & Political Science and Director of the Center for Social Innovation at UCR)
  • Lorena Rosas (DACA Program Associate at the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center)

“The election panel will not only cover the outcome of this election but also its ramifications for the future,” said Kevin Karami, second-year public policy student. “It’s very exciting to think about how each member of the panel brings a unique perspective that can add to one another with each topic that will be discussed.”

This event is open to the general public. Attendees must register to attend. Registrants will receive an email in advance of the event with a link to join.

Since 2014, the UCR School of Public Policy Seminar Series has been bringing policy makers, practitioners, and researchers to campus to talk about various policy issues facing the region and beyond. During the shelter-in-place order for California, all events are being held online. For more information about the series, visit spp.ucr.edu/events.
