On Tuesday, March 3, 2020 the School of Public Policy will be Mayor Acquanetta Warren who will be talking about the importance of civic engagement.

The event will be held at the University of California, Riverside in CHASS Interdisciplinary South 1113 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Acquantta Warren was elected as the City of Fontana’s first female and African American Mayor in December 2010 and re-elected in 2018. Since taking office, Mayor Warren has and continues to be a strong advocate for economic development, jobs, affordable housing, public safety, a healthier community and fiscal integrity. Under the Mayor’s stewardship, the City of Fontana was named the fourth Most Prosperous City in the U.S.

“This is an excellent opportunity to engage with Mayor Warren who has a proven track record of implementing policies to create safer, healthier cities. I am excited to learn more about civic engagement and what we can do to get more involved in creating smart policies,” said Sam Roberts, a fourth year public policy student.

The event is open to all UCR students. Those interested can register via https://spp-warren.eventbrite.com. For more information about the panel, contact markma@ucr.edu.
