On Tuesday, October 22, the School of Public Policy will be hosting the Honorable State Senator Connie Leyva who will be speaking about the movements that have offered a strong public voice to survivors of assault and harassment.

The event will be held at the University of California, Riverside in the Alumni and Visitors Center on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. State

Senator Connie Leyva will discuss the ongoing efforts here in California to correct these injustices that have historically undermined the rights, safety and economic wellbeing of women. This conversation will also focus on potential areas for future reform, as well as the vital need for continued engagement by informed residents from every walk of life.

“This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the Honorable Connie M. Leyva who has a proven track record of helping women and families. I hope to learn more about the national efforts being implemented to support the rights of women and survivors,” said Eric Calderon, a senior public policy student.
